updates...

framing flowers over vellum and print parchment, in an aged stained frame. Automatic writing on shopping bags with floral prints, over colored tissue paper, trimmed and framed. stringing little paper cookie bags with string and using LED lights to finish them off. painting an old bedroom to make it feel new. and photos that inspire me to keep doing and creating.

i'm going to carve totem poles.

and tile my mother's bathroom because she'll never do it.

Dallas Love Field.

Airport...waiting for the plane to Memphis.

Moon man shark sea sailer and the moon was almost full.

I like doing these. Long car rides usually lead to more...

Discoveries in my drawers and piles.

Cleaning out my studio space...most everyone else has already done so. Change builds so slowly, yet acts so quickly.

Recovery.

Being sick, late-nights finishing pieces and bad weather with lots of low fronts makes for a pretty unproductive week. But, alas, I'm back in business. Road trip soon, which I'm sure will lead to an abundance of photographs, sketches, and inspiration and my website is almost done. The rest of today will go to that, and then it's caps and gowns and suitcases.

Finito.

The B.F.A. show reception was tonight. Unfortunately, I had to miss it due to an evil cold/bug/fever/virus/cough/invasion. Sad, but the show will be up for the next few days; I'll hopefully still have time to check out the rest of the locations since I haven't seen them yet. Congrats, everyone! :)

side note: 30 X 40" up on the wall...definitely feels and looks too small. 48 X 60" it is...coming up next. "Next" being in June when many circumstances have changed and I again have the time and space to work that large.

B.F.A

Some automatic doodling. The B.F.A. show is up and ready as of May 6th. I think I will settle on two pieces, not three. Both are quite large, and adequately sum up what I've learned and how I am using it. I'm probably most excited to have these works up, because it symbolizes the end, for me, more so than the portfolio reviews.

I rephrase: it is my beginning.

lunch.

My sketchbook and its pocket are becoming the chronicle doodles of the adventures of Alex.

Lunch...in two parallel universes.
